(Newspaper Clipping) Abstract.
"Hear Federation
President at Club.
Valley Women interested in Lecture Given by Mrs. Maltby.
About 60 women attended the meeting of the Spokane Valley
Women's club, held Saturday afternoon at Millwood in the High School
Auditorium. Mrs. H. E. Maltby, president of the Washington Federa-
tion of Women's clubs, made a talk which was greatly enjoyed...Her
theme was "Translation," or the carrying over into community life
of ideals and aptitudes developed in club work. Her definition of
culture as a combination of "mastery over self, charity toward
others and good conduct," presented a thought worth considering."
List of officers follows, amongst them as "Secretary, Mrs. M. G.
Rawlings of Dishman, Washington." (Acsah Maltbie, see IX.4121.)
